Rebecca Brown BEXSS (AEP, AES) ESSAM
Exercise Physiologist
Bec is a passionate and experienced Exercise Physiologist and Exercise Scientist working mostly in the field of musculoskeletal rehabilitation and high performance. Since graduating from QUT with a Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology in 2016 Bec has also undertaken further professional studies in pain management, clinical pilates and has additional qualifications in strength & conditioning and sports training.
Embracing a lifelong passion for dance, Bec completed her ATOD and RAD examinations in ballet, jazz, contemporary and tap, while also choreographing for musical theatre projects. She transitioned from full-time dance training at QUT into the field of Exercise Physiology as she was fascinated by human movement and helping people optimise their physical well-being.
As a dancer herself, Bec is able to develop S&C programs and dance techniques specifically tailored to performers that allow dancers to improve that extra one percent. She is passionate about supporting fellow dancers and offers pre-pointe assessments, strength and conditioning programs and injury management tailored to the unique needs of the dance community.
Engaging with patients who have persistent pain is also a special interest for Bec and she is an advocate for modern pain science education. Currently studying a Graduate Diploma of Psychology with Monash University, Bec is dedicated to gaining a deeper understanding of psychological aspects related to pain management, rehabilitation and performance.
Bec is a qualified pilates instructor in both matwork and equipment, attaining her certification through the Pilates Institute of Queensland and supervises many of our Pilates classes offered at RMPhysio.
Bec continues to dance herself and loves encouraging others to keep dancing no matter what age.
